This guide is to inform you on upcoming changes we are making with your Duo Multi Factor Authorization. The main highlights are:
1. You will now have a visual Duo interface at the time of login
2. SMS Authentication has now been added as a factor
3. If your previous default authentication method was Phone Call, you may need to adjust your settings if you want to keep it as a Phone Call
1. Duo interface
After you input your username and password, you will now be redirected to a Duo window where you can control your factor and settings.
If you are configured with Duo Push with the Duo app, it will look like this:
If you are configured with SMS, it will look like this:
You may click on "Other Options" to select a different authentication method if you so choose.
The system by default will remember the last factor you selected and use that next time. If you wish to not have it do that, you may open a support ticket to get that switched off.
2. SMS Authentication
We have added SMS/Text as an authentication method for those who wish to use it.
As explained above, if you would like to use SMS/Text to authenticate, you can click on "Other Options" and select " Text message passcode".
3. Phone Call Changes
If your default authentication method prior to this update was a Phone Call, then please be on the lookout that the default is now switched to SMS.
Fortunately, if you wish to continue using Phone Call as your authentication method, it is easy to switch it back. When you see the Duo interface, click on "Other Options" and select "Phone Call"
Note that if your default authentication method prior to the update was the Duo Push with the Duo App, then this won't affect you as your new default will still be the Duo Push Notification.
